Students & Alumni

While students come from all different ages, skill levels, and backgrounds, we have found that their love for the arts and devotion to their craft is something they all share.

At Performing Arts Prep, our most profound sense of community stems from the happiness and success of our students.

We love to hear student feedback, highlight growth, and encourage the trailblazing paths they will forge in the future.

Meet Our Students & Alumni

Kasey M.

Age: 17

Kasey came to us as a high school veteran in musical theater. Her goals were to expand her vocal range, and improve her technique and ear training. From the start, Kasey was fully committed to studying and practicing the curriculum and our lesson plans worked well with her consistent opportunities to apply the material through her active school performance schedule.

Kasey was able to cultivate her skills, and with the tutelage of Performing Arts Prep, reached her goals at the perfect time to debut them for our Autumn Recital. She now pursues her Musical Theatre Degree at Temple University

Trinity E.

Age: 11

Trinity is an Alumni student of our Preparatory School who studied Guitar and Music theory online under the tutelage of Craig Cunningham. During her lessons, she learned to play along with her favorite songs, improve her finger dexterity and strengthen her ear training! We are so proud of her and can’t wait to see where she goes from here!

 Jaxson F.

Age: 8

Jaxson is a current student at Performing Arts Preparatory School who is rocking his studies in music theory and piano. His motivation for studying music comes from his desire to enhance skills in his interests: Drumming, DJing, and music production. From talent shows, to community centers and vaccination drives, Jaxson is no stranger to performing and we are honored to be able to guide him!

Age: 16

“Alli [from Performing Arts Prep] has been my voice coach for the last 4 years. I first started voice lessons with Alli to develop my voice for musical theater due to her background in performance arts. I have worked with many voice coaches and instructors, ranging from classically trained opera singers to contemporary recording artists. I found that her instruction was by far the best. I rely on her to prepare for auditions and performances. She has helped me not only prepare for the auditions musically but also with movement on stage...She has helped me to understand what goes on inside my body when I sing, and how I can effectively utilize all physical aspects to reach the best possible sound. In all of the time I trained with her, she has helped me prepare for countless auditions and performances, and I do not know where I would be today without her.”

Cassidy T.

Age: 5

Cassidy started voice lessons as a young singer who loved to sing. She wanted to learn the right habits as she explored her favorite pastime. She has a big personality and a big voice to match! We focused on fine-tuning her ear and establishing proper diction habits. We also taught her how to properly breathe for proper vocal production. She is currently perfecting her vocals for the song: “How Far I’ll Go” from the Disney Movie Moana. Watch her practice singing behind the scenes with one of her favorite diction exercises!

Kiyah V.

Age:14

“I was paired with Ms. Alli from Performing Arts Preparatory in the fall of 2018 for vocal lessons. She worked with me on a specific song that I needed to perfect for an upcoming audition. We worked tirelessly for 3 months and grew a lasting friendship. She pushed me beyond any prior vocal teacher I ever had. I was able to walk into my audition confident and poised and I was accepted into the performing arts school. We accomplished something GREAT!! Since COVID-19 we have been doing online instructions. Ms. Alli has not skipped a beat! Class is running just as it would in person. She continues to push me on key technique items i.e. strengthening my diaphragm. My family and I would definitely recommend Performing Arts Prep and look forward to continuing our lessons.”

Anthony S.

Age: 12

Anthony came to us as a complete beginner to music. He was looking to explore piano and music theory and with his interest and motivation working hand in hand, he learned quickly and practiced often. Today, Anthony is a talented intermediate player with exceptional sight-reading and intonation skills with a promising future in music. These days his interests are in creating and composing his own music and playing songs from his favorite video games! Watch him play a song called Freight Train from last year’s Autumn Recital.

Age: 15

“I met with Alli so I could vocally prepare for auditions and a vocal star showcase.  Going in for the first time I wasn't comfortable with high pitched singing at all that I would tense up and restrict my throat. Alli helped me understand how to sing with proper placement and how to releasing the sound and focusing my resonance in the right places for each tone. I still practice all the vocal tips I learned.I practiced many songs such as “Set Fire to the Rain”, “Is this Love”, “Sweet Dreams” and many more. Now I can use my full vocal range with ease and confidence. I am no longer scared to sing my siren song.”
